The Missing Step

In a burning house a man finds one broken stair tread still in place but unable to bear weight. He removes it, lights the small gap and warns the family upstairs. The other treads and handrail are intact; the family steps across that point and descends.

1. Choose a narrator: they read the answer privately and hide it.
2. Read the premise aloud. Answers: yes, no or irrelevant.
3. When the game ends, mark the puzzle as played.
