A kidnapper orders a small diamond to be left in a booth in a park. Police watch every pedestrian exit, but the jewel disappears without any person taking it beyond the perimeter. An officer notices an empty small cage and movement above the trees.
- Choose a narrator: they read the answer privately and hide it.
- Read the premise aloud. Answers: yes, no or irrelevant.

The answer
Inside the booth was a caged homing pigeon and a message instructing him to put the diamond in a small pouch around its neck and release it. When he did so, police could not follow the bird as it flew across the city to its owner.
