The Face Behind Them

Two men are forced to look at a wall while a third is killed behind them. They remain facing the wall the entire time, yet later separately describe the same face to the police. There were no mirrors in the room.

The answer
The wall had a window. It was night and the room was lit: the dark glass reflected what was happening behind the two men. The killer had forced them to turn around thinking he couldn't be recognized. They both saw his face reflected in the window as he fired and could describe it without ever having turned around.
