The Dry Coat

A man says he searched for his wife in the fields in the rain, wearing the same coat throughout. A photograph taken as he left identifies it. On his return his boots are muddy but the coat is dry; his brother-in-law asks for a check.

1. Choose a narrator: they read the answer privately and hide it.
