A man drives while listening to a programme advertised as live. He hears the same phone call a second time, word for word, then tells a colleague that police will soon arrive. He is not reporting that colleague.

The answer
He was the presenter. He played a recording to appear in the studio while committing murder. By mistake the file restarted, repeating even a listener’s call presented as newly received. His colleague was the technician, who would now discover the empty studio. Repetition did not prove murder but exposed the recording used for his alibi.
